After a successful career working in the contracting industry, Gary Stanton saw a need for contractor knowledge based services to the owners for whom he had been working. He saw the benefit of an initial review, from a contractor’s perspective, of projects prior to the bid release on construction projects. This review was intended to save both time and money for the owner by focusing on the key issues, such as, accuracy of documents, potential problem areas or conflicts, and any limitations of operations, which could impact the progress and costs of the projects. Constructability, phasing, schedule, quantity reviews, and risk analysis performed by a professional with contracting experience could produce substantial savings to the owner in the long run.

Since its inception, Stanton has grown into much more, providing the following services: development of engineer’s estimates, project schedule review, claims review, cost estimating, CMGC program management, and Independent Cost Estimating of change orders.

Stanton works solely with owners and owner’s representatives and does not perform estimating functions for contractors or non-owner entities. Stanton believes this is very important in maintaining fairness and independence, and it eliminates any potential conflict of interest on our projects. Providing a truly independent point of view is a critical part of our business philosophy and plan.

No Project Too Large or Too Small

Stanton’s cost estimates are prepared using the same methods used by general contractors. Our direct knowledge of construction operations and understanding of how construction costs are developed, allows us to prepare estimates comparable and compatible to contractor’s estimates. We have leveraged our construction experience in order to give owners a stronger position when negotiating GMP pricing, contracts, and change orders. This methodology is also used in the early stages of project development to review and assess risks, establish early project budgets, and establish realistic schedules.
